Active Tourism

Mas Torroella is the perfect starting point for walks and routes, as it is in the middle of the mountain massif of the Gavarres. Much of the Gavarres is covered by the hiking network, and the paths are clearly signposted and well-suited for hiking or cycling.

Our district has a network of high-quality nautical services offering visitors a wide range of possibilities for doing water sports, making cruises or following courses, as well as scuba-diving or snorkelling, kayaking, windsurfing, water-skiing or jet-skiing, take a sailing course, go fishing…

Today, anyone has the chance to do just that in an ultralight (delta wing), helicopter or balloon. For the most daring there is the option to do parachute jumps.

Over 30% of Girona regions are a special protected natural area, like Gavarres Massif or the natural parks such as Cap de Creus, the Empordà Wetlands or The Montgrí – Medes Islands; spaces where you can find a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Apart from them, there are different botanical gardens located near the sea like Cap Roig, between Palafrugell and Mont-ras, one of the most important on the Mediterranean.

The Girona region has a wide range of high class golf courses available which are open all year round, situated by the sea, on the Empordà Plains and also in densely wooded mountainous areas. There are many types of categories of golf course for golf lovers. Only ten minutes to Mas Torroella you will find a golf course.
